YASE will feature two showcases:
Entertainers’ Showcase (Tuesday evening)
Final Showcase (Friday evening)
Please review the following details for sign-up instructions, guidelines, attendance
requirements, and ticket details.

Entertainer’s Showcase
The Entertainers’ Showcase, held on Tuesday night, is an optional opportunity for solo or small
group performances in singing, dancing, or acting. Participants will perform for their peers and
receive feedback from the director, BYU faculty, and Young Ambassadors.
- Participation in the show is optional; attendance is mandatory.
- Students may only participate in one number.
- Select numbers will be chosen to perform again in the Final Showcase on Friday.
- Family and friends may attend. They do not need tickets and they do not need to stay the entire time.
Song Choice
- We will send a list of the numbers you will be learning at YASE. Please do not use those songs as your Entertainers’ Showcase number.
- Participants may only perform in ONE number at the Entertainer’s Showcase. If you choose to sing a duet or act as part of another YASE participant’s performance, you will not be allowed to perform any additional musical numbers during the Showcase.
- All music—including lyrics, beat, intensity, and choreography—must comply with the BYU Honor Code and For the Strength of Youth standards. If your selection does not meet these standards, you will be required to choose a different song before being allowed to perform in the Entertainers’ Showcase.

Allotted Time
The Entertainers’ Showcase often lasts over three hours. Please help keep the show moving and maximize opportunities for all participants by adhering to your allotted time.
- Solos may not exceed 2 minutes.
- Group numbers may not exceed 4 minutes.
Backing Tracks
If you are using a backing track, you must submit one through the Google Form you use to sign up below. These tracks MUST be in .MP3 or .WAV format.
- Please submit before arriving at camp.
- No CDs, YouTube links, or USBs will be accepted.

Sheet Music
A live accompanist and practice time with the accompanist will be provided as an option. If you are utilizing the accompanist, you must submit your sheet music in .PDF format with clear cuts. You must also bring a copy in plastic sheet covers.
- Submit music before arriving at camp.
- We cannot copy song books.
- Write your name, email address, and phone number on the front page of your sheet music.
You can sign up to practice with the accompanist during check-in. Please have your sheet music ready for practice with the accompanist on Tuesday, as well as for performances. Self-accompaniment is also an option. Remember to collect your sheet music at the end of the Entertainers’ Showcase and/or Final Concert. Any music left behind will be sent to BYU Lost and Found.

Dress and Appearance
All clothing must comply with BYU Honor Code standards. You will not be permitted to perform if you are not in compliance.
- Costumes are optional
- It’s important that you’re not thinking about your clothing when you are on stage, so wear clothes that you are comfortable in and that follow the Honor Code.
- Style your hair out of your face to avoid creating shadows.
- The noise made by jangly jewelry will get picked up by the microphones. Large, metallic jewelry may throw distracting reflections from the lights.
Final Showcase
The Final Showcase features group performances from the Young Ambassadors’ repertoire, along with selected solos and small group acts chosen from the Entertainers’ Showcase.
There will be two performances on Friday night—one at 6:00 p.m. and another at 8:00 p.m.—in the Dance Performance Theatre at the BYU Richards Building. Family and friends are welcome to attend one of the shows. Each camp participant may bring up to five guests; ushers will have a list of performers and their guest allowances at the door.
Soloists and groups selected from the Entertainers’ Showcase will perform in only one of the two shows. Performance assignments will be announced on Wednesday afternoon.

NOTE: Due to copyright and licensing restrictions, recordings of the event may not be posted on social media sites.
